About Open Space Technology

Theme: Maximizing Strategic Impact!

This meeting will utilize a different meeting design called Open Space Technology, developed by Harrison Owen, in which the agenda topics –the ideas you would like to discuss–are determined at the beginning of the meeting entirely by the participants in attendance. The meeting format utilizes four principles and one law and may feel chaotic and creative at the same time.

What Will Happen During the Meeting?

During the day-long meeting, there will be plenty of time to present and discuss the ideas you put forth; you will also capture the results of your discussion group and possible next steps for all attendees to review. Your ideas will be on the table—if you choose to put them there.

We anticipate that by the end of the meeting:

  • All ideas will have received as full a discussion as you have chosen to give them
  • You will have created a written record of your group’s discussion, recommendations and potential next steps.
  • Ideas will have been ranked in order of focus as prioritized by the attendees

We are excited about the opportunity to try this open meeting format as it aligns nicely with our goal of co-creating the future of business operations.
